Sometimes, especially when I’m tired I feel doubt. It happens when my time to be with ME gets lost in caring for others. Or when my to-do’s dominate my life.

This dark feeling first shows up in my body.  As an ache in my neck this time. I hear a bickering voice riding along with every breath I take: “It’s too much, I can’t handle this. I’m not sure if I’m on the right path.

Getting hooked on the pain, this voice finds easy entry and repeats itself. Annoying but it feels real. Through the years I got to know this beast well and learned to pause and – nail it😌.

Nail it?

Yes, with AWARENESS.

Awareness doesn’t erase the feeling or the exhaustion or give me a carefree life, but it provides a choice. It’s a truth finder. Once we notice what’s going on we can flip the switch. The action is on us!

In my case, I can choose to let the feeling of not being sure drown me, or I can understand that not being sure is part of being alive. Especially when exhausted. Easy? No, it’s not, but it’s possible.

What do I do when this happens?

 I hop on a

🌴Tiny Island in the middle of this feeling. It’s my cure.

I pause long enough to take a few breaths, relax and listen to my body. Without giving more power to the dark feelings coming with this message I say:  “Aha, I hear you.” With each exhalation, I let the thoughts go. Think of clouds in the sky – they come and go. Do this with your thoughts!

Breathe out* – Breathe in – Repeat – notice the thoughts riding along, it’s normal and label them thoughts. That’s all. *Yes, breathe out first. I’ll talk about it next time.

Don’t give them any meaning, don’t give up. They will keep coming, but you don’t have to buy into them.

Please breathe when you feel down.

It’s a love note to your body.

You MUST care about YOU!

And remember, every inhalation is a new beginning.

With more clarity now, because I distanced myself from the troubling thoughts, I remember not to take it all too seriously. And set my timer to pause again for a visit on my 🌴Tiny Island at least every thirty minutes. It’s the best habit I have!

💡To struggle is human; to edit, divine!

Always with love,

PS: Love my whispers? Please share them. I’m in the middle of building my online presence with a new website and much more. All in tiny steps!

PSS: Let me know how you are doing. I always love to connect with each one of you.💗
