🎊 Wednesday Whisper is back 🎊

After a few weeks of Soul Dangling, of putting less-on-my-to-do and more on my to-be list,

the number one thing I learned to manage my chaotic life is this:

I need to add the 🍓 strawberry magic into my life and include it in the 🌴 Tiny Island collection!

Read the strawberry story below.

I needed Soul Dangling because caring for my autistic daughter, who forgets everything starting with closing the doors to flushing the toilette is exhausting. Not sleeping and roaming the house? Autism got you covered. Add the extra struggle with Covid 19 that, at least for now, stole her future and top it with our sudden move to Germany four months ago to escape California’s wildfires, and the script for a movie is ready.

Imagine a spacious home with room to leave each other alone to a two-seater sofa for three in a small apartment, and you might feel holding your breath. Imagine the triggers! That’s why Soul-Dangling was needed.

I do three things daily to keep me in the game and replace STRESS with BLISS.

  • Yoga with Savasana or relaxation at the end – 100% bliss.
  • Nature – Visiting trees, the sky, the stars, the clouds – 100%
  • 🌴 Tiny Islands – Pausing during the day for Self-Care -100%

So, why was that not enough?

I realized our confined space offers no buffer between my self-care and the demands of care-taking. It was off the mat or bike and immediately facing the tigers. My bliss speeded away before the adrenals got a hold of it😉.

Here is the story as told by Pema Chodron:

A woman is running away from tigers. She runs and runs, and the tigers are getting closer and closer.

When she comes to the edge of a cliff, she sees some vines there, so she climbs down and holds on to the vines. Looking down, she sees that there are tigers below her as well.

She then notices that a mouse is gnawing away at the vine to which she is clinging.

She also sees a beautiful little bunch of strawberries close to her, growing out of a clump of grass. She looks up, and she looks down. She looks at the mouse.

Then she just takes a 🍓 strawberry, puts it in her mouth, and enjoys it thoroughly.

Each moment is just what it is. We have a choice here.

It might be the only moment of our life; it might be the only strawberry we’ll ever eat.💡

We could get depressed about it, or we could finally appreciate it and delight in the preciousness of every single moment of our life.

I can’t change my life’s challenges. But from now on, my transition from Being to Doing will be embraced by the joy of tasting a strawberry!

Try this now and when you run out of time:

🌴Tiny Island Tip –  Close your eyes. Visualize a strawberry. Marvel at the color. Feel it’s sun-kissed skin. Taste it. Slowly chew it.
